Corruption of Champions II is a text-based adult fantasy RPG with party combat, made by Savin's Salamander Studios and published through Fenoxo's site. You can play the public build free in a browser, or buy the Steam Early Access version for $9.99 (regular price, September 2026) on Windows and Linux. It is still in development, at public version 0.9.8.

Content note. This game is for adults only and carries Steam's "Adult Only Sexual Content" descriptor. Steam's own notes list monster-girl and furry romance, all gender combinations, transformation, sex after winning or losing fights, erotic "bad ends", female domination, pregnancy and group scenes. The store description itself warns of a great deal of fetish content.

In short

  • What it is: the sequel to Corruption of Champions, a menu-driven text RPG with companions, classes and turn-based party fights.
  • Who it's for: players who like reading and building a party, and who are comfortable with the content note above.
  • Price: free public build on fenoxo.com; $9.99 on Steam (regular price, September 2026). Backers get newer builds first.
  • Status and platforms: Early Access, public version 0.9.8. Browser, Windows, Android and (on Steam) Linux. No macOS build.
  • Big pro / big con: "Very Positive" on Steam and patched often, but very text-heavy and the story is unfinished.

What is Corruption of Champions II?

It is a text-based RPG focused on romance and adventure, set generations after the original. Demons are invading the player's home realm again, and a new champion sets out to stop them. It is also searched as Corruption of Champions 2 or simply CoC2.

One point that confuses people: this is not Fenoxo's own game. Steam lists Salamander Studios, the studio of the writer Savin, as developer and publisher. Fenoxo's site hosts the free build and links to the Steam page, which is why the two are so often mentioned together. Our Fenoxo profile covers the original and Trials in Tainted Space.

On Steam the game sits at "Very Positive", with 1,675 positive and 153 negative reviews (1,828 in total, all languages, September 30, 2026).

Gameplay

You read scenes in the main panel and pick actions from a grid of buttons. Exploration happens room by room on a small map, and fights are turn-based, with your party of companions acting alongside you.

The key systems

  • Character building: you choose a race at the start and build your champion through classes and gear.
  • Companions: the store page mentions catgirl clerics, kitsune sorceresses, elf princesses and orc amazons among the people who can join you.
  • Turn-based party combat: you lead your companions against demons and other enemies, combining their strengths.
  • Quests and regions: the story moves through several regions, and each patch adds areas, quests and characters.
  • Puzzles and side activities: optional areas include small logic puzzles between the fights and conversations.

Compared with the original

The quest design is more structured than in the first game, and the party system replaces the original's solo fights. Where the original leaned on random encounters, this one gives you clearer goals and a journal. It still reads more than it shows, and a common player comment is that it is very text-heavy, which not everyone enjoys.

Story

The setting is the world of Savarra, which the Steam description frames as a world on the brink of falling to a seductive demon queen who wants the champion's soul above all others. The opening region is the Frost Marches, and from there you travel outward, meeting companions and romance options on the way. The main story is still being written; the developer's blog describes Act 3 as in progress.

The focus is on romance and adventure, and the store description stresses that everything is written by people: "No Artificial Intelligence was used in the making of this game." All characters are adults.

Visual style

The screen is laid out like a book: text on parchment in the middle, party portraits on the left and a room map on the right. Character portraits and artwork give it more visual identity than the original, but the art supports the writing rather than replacing it.

The options menu covers the practical side, with a dark mode, a controller toggle, default fonts and cursors, and a screen-reader friendly mode for some of the more complex menus.

Platforms and how to get it

Fenoxo's play page lists four official options for this game: "Play in Browser" (for PC and mobile), "Download for Windows", "Download for Android" and "Purchase on Steam".

Playing Corruption of Champions 2 online

Click "Play in Browser" on the play page and the game opens in a tab. There is nothing to install, and the page says it works on PC and mobile.

Mac, Linux and Android

  • Mac: Steam lists Windows and Linux only, and there is no macOS download on the play page, so the browser version is the practical option. Our guide to adult games on macOS covers the general options.
  • Linux: available through Steam. The Steam page notes that the in-game Steam overlay does not work on Linux.
  • Android: an official download on the play page.

PC requirements on Steam

The game is light: a 64-bit Windows 7, 8 or 10 system, a 2 GHz dual-core processor, 2 GB of RAM and 600 MB of storage.

Is Corruption of Champions 2 free?

Yes, in its public form. The browser build and the Windows and Android downloads on fenoxo.com cost nothing. The Steam version is $9.99 (regular price, September 2026) and adds Steam features such as Achievements and Cloud saves. Backers on Savin's Patreon or SubscribeStar get builds before the public: a backer post dated September 23, 2026 was already ahead of public 0.9.8. Our explainer on how Patreon releases work covers that model.

So the Steam purchase is mostly a way to support the studio and get store conveniences. It is also one of the few text RPGs on our list of adult games on Steam, since the full content ships in the Steam build with no patch.

Is it safe to download?

We don't test or certify files. The official sources are Fenoxo's play page and Steam; use those and nothing else.

  • Prefer the browser or Steam. Neither requires you to run a file from an unknown host.
  • Download only from fenoxo.com. Skip re-uploads, "unlocked" builds and mobile ports found through search.
  • Scan any download before you run it, especially the Android file.

Latest version and updates

The latest public version is 0.9.8, announced on Steam on September 19, 2026 as "New Patch: The Phantom Mander". It completed the second half of the Tychris area quest and added several new NPCs. Tychris, the City of Sorcery, is an optional region that began rolling out in July 2026.

Update pace

  • Frequent patches: public patches arrived several times per quarter in 2026 (July 24, August 1, August 21 and September 19 on Steam).
  • Backer builds first: Patreon and SubscribeStar supporters get content before the public build.
  • Old saves: the play page offers a "Legacy Save System" Android build to convert data from before version 0.7.15.

Pros

  • Free public build playable in a browser, no install
  • More structured quests and party combat than the original
  • Over a hundred romanceable characters and a million-plus words
  • Regular public patches through 2026
  • Full content in the Steam build, "Very Positive" reviews

Cons

  • Still Early Access; the story is unfinished
  • No native macOS build
  • Very text-heavy (community sentiment)
  • Newest content goes to backers first
  • English only

Is CoC2 free?

The public build is free in a browser and as Windows and Android downloads on fenoxo.com. The Steam version costs $9.99 (regular price, September 2026), and backers get newer builds first.

What is the difference between the Steam version and the free one?

Both have the full adult content. Steam adds Achievements, Cloud saves, automatic updates and a Linux build. The free browser build needs no install and works on a Mac.

Public version 0.9.8, released on September 19, 2026. Backer builds are usually a little ahead.

Is there a Corruption of Champions 2 Mac version?

Not a native one. Steam lists Windows and Linux only. On a Mac, use the free browser version on fenoxo.com.

Is CoC2 finished?

No. It is in Early Access on Steam, and the developer's blog describes Act 3 as in progress. We could not find an announced date for a full release.

Final verdict

This is the most approachable of the big text RPGs: a clearer structure than the original, a real party system, and a free build that runs in any browser. Its Steam reputation and patch pace suggest it is in good hands, even if the story is not finished. It is still a game you read, and its content is wide-ranging, so check the note at the top first. If it clicks, compare it with Fenoxo's Trials in Tainted Space, go back to the 2011 original, or see our wider picks of adult RPG games and the full game catalog.
