Gay Harem Review

Gay Harem is Kinkoid's free-to-play male/male harem RPG, a parody of manga, comics and video games drawn in a muscular bara style. It has run in desktop and mobile browsers on gayharem.com and Nutaku since December 4, 2018, with an Android APK from Nutaku. It is free to start, and it makes money through Nutaku Gold and randomized "Pachinko" draws.

In short

  • What it is: a collector RPG in a comedic "Haremverse": you travel through parody worlds and recruit male characters into your team.
  • Who it's for: gay and bi players who want a long-running, free browser game made for them; not for anyone after tactical combat.
  • Price: free to play, with in-game purchases in Nutaku Gold and paid draws.
  • Status and platforms: live service with weekly patch notes; browser (desktop and mobile) and Android. Not on Steam.
  • Big pro / big con: a huge roster and steady updates, but progress is timer-gated and the best characters sit in gacha draws.

What is Gay Harem?

The Gay Harem game is one of the few free-to-play browser titles aimed at a gay audience that has lasted for years. Kinkoid develops and publishes it, on the same template as Comix Harem and Pornstar Harem. Nutaku calls it an adventure "embedded with manga, comic books, video games, and pop culture", told in visual novel format with plenty of humour.

The cast is all men, drawn in the bara style: big, muscular, older-looking characters. Every character is an adult, and Nutaku states that all models are 18+. Characters are parodies of familiar archetypes rather than licensed ones.

How to play Gay Harem in a browser

  1. Open an official page. gayharem.com or the game's page on nutaku.net.
  2. Create an account. Signing up is required, and you confirm you are of legal age. Logged out, the official site shows only the game shell.
  3. Play in the tab. Nothing to install on a computer. The save lives on your account, so desktop and phone share it.

Does Gay Harem need an account? Yes, always. Nutaku lists PC browser, mobile browser and Android, and tags the game mobile friendly.

Gameplay

It is Kinkoid's harem RPG loop: short sessions, resources that refill over time, and a steadily growing collection.

The loop

  • Story adventures. Visual novel scenes set in parody worlds, often ending with a new recruit.
  • Collecting and levelling. Each character is a unit you level up, gift and equip, with an affection system on top.
  • Harem performance battles. Stat-based fights against AI champions and other players on PvP leaderboards.
  • Side modes. The Labyrinth and Penta Drill add more ways to spend a session.
  • Clubs. Player groups with chat and shared rewards; the official site says they open once your harem reaches 15 characters.

Our take: the loop is simple and pleasant in small doses. The battles are an automatic comparison of numbers, and players of Kinkoid games often describe the progression as grindy and timer-gated. It is a game to check twice a day, not to binge.

Pachinko draws and events

Nutaku lists more than 200 recruitable characters. Some come from missions; many come from Epic, Event and Mythic "Pachinko" draws, which are randomized, so they work like gacha. The Gay Harem events calendar is busy: Nutaku describes four monthly events, each with daily missions, which is where most limited characters appear.

Story and tone

The writing is broad parody. Each world riffs on a genre or a well-known series, with running jokes and knowing nods to the source. How much you enjoy it depends on how much you enjoy pop-culture parody; if the references do not land, the story becomes filler between recruits.

The content is explicit male/male material. We keep this review non-explicit and do not show screenshots, since none were available from an official source we could use.

Main features

  • Hundreds of uncensored illustrations that Nutaku says are accessible to all players for free
  • Four monthly events with daily missions
  • PvP leaderboards, Clubs, the Labyrinth and Penta Drill

Is Gay Harem free?

QuestionAnswer
Price to playFree
Premium currency on NutakuNutaku Gold
Randomized drawsYes: Epic, Event and Mythic Pachinko
TimersYes, progress is paced by refilling resources
Illustrations behind a paywallNo, per Nutaku they are free for all players

You can play without paying. Gold speeds things up and buys more draws. Kinkoid does not document its in-game currencies on a public page, so we do not name them. For games with no monetization, see our free adult games list.

Is there an app, and is it on Steam?

There is an Android APK, downloaded from the Nutaku page. There is no iOS app; on an iPhone, use the mobile browser. The game is not on Steam, and no Steam page exists in our records, unlike Comix Harem, which has one announced.

Is Gay Harem safe?

On gayharem.com or Nutaku it is an ordinary website with nothing installed on your computer. Three habits keep it that way:

  • Use the official pages only. Mirrors and "unlocked" copies are unknown code.
  • APK from Nutaku only. Allow the install for that one file, then switch the permission off.
  • Pay only in the game or on nutaku.net. Never through a site you reached from an ad.

Privacy is worth a thought too: the game lives on an account, so use an email you are comfortable tying to an adult portal.

Latest version and patch notes

Kinkoid publishes Gay Harem patch notes weekly. Nutaku showed game updates dated September 16, September 23 and September 30, 2026. There is no version number; the weekly notes are the version history.

Pros

  • A long-running free game made for gay players
  • More than 200 characters and four monthly events
  • Illustrations free for all players, per Nutaku

Cons

  • Pachinko draws are gacha
  • Grindy, timer-gated progression
  • Automatic, shallow combat
  • Humour depends on pop-culture parody
  • Account required; no offline play

Final verdict

For a gay audience there are very few free browser games with this much content and this steady an update record. The parody writing and bara art give it a clear identity, and trying it costs nothing. The loop is shallow and gated by timers and gacha draws, so play it as a daily check-in and spend only if you are sure. Our best browser adult games list compares it with the rest, and the games catalog has everything else we review.
