In short

  • What it is: a collection RPG with puzzle battles, character upgrades and time-limited events, built around unlockable animated scenes.
  • Who it's for: players who like gacha-style collecting and short daily sessions, in a browser or on Android.
  • Price: free to play with optional in-game purchases, through a free Nutaku account.
  • Status and platforms: live since May 15, 2019; PC browser, mobile browser and an Android APK from Nutaku. No Steam release.
  • Big pro / big con: nothing to buy up front and nothing to install on PC, but it is monetized like any gacha game.

What is Project QT?

It is developed by xDNA and published by Nutaku Publishing, the publishing arm of the Nutaku adult games platform. It launched on May 15, 2019 and is still running live events in 2026, a long run for a free-to-play game.

The setup is light: a virus threatens a galaxy of heroines, and you team up with them to fight it, while also building a relationship with each one. Many of the characters are fantasy monster girls, such as slimes, wolves, gorgons and vampires. All characters are adults, and Nutaku states that everyone depicted on its site is 18 or older.

Short answer on who should try it: if you enjoy collection RPGs, it costs nothing to see whether the loop works for you. If you dislike gacha monetization, skip it, because that is the whole business model.

Gameplay

Nutaku describes the Project QT game as a blend of "puzzle mechanics and RPG turn-based combat". In practice, that means three layers.

Battles

  • Puzzle layer. Nutaku calls the battles puzzle-based, so how well you play the puzzle part shapes each fight.
  • Turn-based team combat. You field a squad with a leader, and each character has special skills.
  • Elements and runes. The official help center covers character elements, combining elements through runes and spell runes, so there is more planning than the art suggests.

Collecting and upgrading

  • Summoning. You summon new characters, the gacha part of the design.
  • Growth. Characters level up and go through bonds, evolution, promotion and awakening systems.
  • Skins. Alternate skins and costumes are part of the collection.

Events and progression

Time-limited live events are the main source of new content, and a live event countdown was running on the Nutaku page when we checked. Newbie missions guide the first days. Relationship progress with each character unlocks their animated scenes, which are the reward the whole loop is built around.

Our take: this is a familiar free-to-play structure done competently. The puzzle battles add a little skill, the element system adds a little depth, and the rest is daily collecting. The community view in player discussions is that progression can feel grindy if you do not spend, which is typical for the genre; plan to play slowly or budget for purchases.

Project QT characters and content

The cast is large. Nutaku's tags point to what you get: a harem-style cast, monster girls, character evolution, partial voice acting and animated scenes. The dialogue is flirtatious rather than story-heavy.

On content: Nutaku lists the game as uncensored, with explicit animated sexual content that unlocks through progression. We keep this review non-explicit. Expect the adult scenes to be the main reward, with the RPG as the route to them.

Main features

  • Puzzle battles with turn-based RPG combat, elements and runes
  • A large collectible cast, many of them monster-girl characters
  • Character progression: levels, bonds, evolution, promotion and awakening
  • Animated scenes and partial voice acting, per Nutaku's tags
  • Time-limited live events since 2019
  • Seven languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Korean, Japanese and Chinese

Visual style

The game uses bright 2D anime-style art with animated character illustrations, which Nutaku's own page leans on hard as the selling point.

Platforms and how to get it

You play through Nutaku, and you need a free Nutaku account and an internet connection.

PlatformHow it works
PC browserPlay on the Nutaku page; nothing to install. Nutaku lists Windows 7 or 10 and recommends Google Chrome.
Mobile browserPlay on the same page from your phone's browser.
AndroidA Project QT APK from Nutaku, downloaded on the device or on a computer and transferred.
iOSNutaku tags it "iOS Compatible"; we could not confirm a native iOS app, so expect to use the mobile browser.
SteamNo Steam release found

In short, Project QT PC play means the browser: there is no Windows download to install. The browser version and the Android app both run through your Nutaku account. The help center also has a "My progress was reset!" article, so if you switch devices, check that you are logged in to the same account first.

Is Project QT free?

Yes. There is no purchase price. Nutaku notes that free games may include in-game purchases, and in a gacha game that is where the money is made: spending speeds up summoning and upgrades. You can play without spending, but the pace will be slower. For games that are free without a shop attached, see our best free adult games list.

Is Project QT safe?

From Nutaku, yes, as far as any official store goes. Play in the browser on nutaku.net or install the Android APK from the button on the official game page. Avoid "mod APK" or "unlimited gems" downloads from other sites: they are unofficial and can carry malware. Keep the same caution you would with any sideloaded Android app. Our guide to how safe Steam adult games are covers the general principles behind trusted stores.

Latest updates

The game does not publish version numbers. The newest post in the news block on the Project QT Nutaku page is from September 27, 2023, a summer event announcement, so that feed looks stale. The game itself was clearly still running when we checked on September 30, 2026, with a live event countdown on the page. Treat the news section as out of date rather than the game as abandoned.

Pros

  • Free to start, nothing to install on PC
  • Puzzle battles and elements add some real strategy
  • Animated scenes and partial voice acting
  • Long-running, with ongoing live events
  • Seven interface languages

Cons

  • Gacha and in-app purchase monetization
  • Needs a Nutaku account and a connection
  • Grindy without spending, according to community feedback
  • Android only as an app; no native iOS or Steam version confirmed
  • The official news feed has not been updated since 2023

FAQ

Do you have to pay to play?

No. It is free to play on Nutaku, with optional in-game purchases.

Is there a Project QT Android app?

Yes. Nutaku offers an Android APK download on the official game page. Install it only from there.

Is there a Project QT iOS app?

Not one we could confirm; use the mobile browser. Nutaku tags the game "iOS Compatible", but that appears to mean browser play.

Is it on Steam?

No. We found no Steam release; it is a Nutaku game played in the browser or through the Android app.

How do Project QT events work?

Time-limited live events bring limited rewards and their own challenges. The official help center has an events overview and advice on which consumables to save for future events.

Is Project QT worth it?

It costs nothing to find out. If you like collection RPGs and short daily sessions, it is a solid example. If gacha monetization bothers you, look at a paid game instead.

Final verdict

This is a competent free-to-play puzzle RPG with a big collectible cast and animated scenes as the reward. The battles have a bit more depth than you might expect, it runs anywhere with a browser, and it has lasted since 2019. It is also a gacha game through and through, so your enjoyment depends on how you feel about grinding or spending.
