Brothel Tycoon is a slow, text-and-image business simulation from DMA Games in which Yvonne turns a small cafe into an adult-entertainment venue by hiring staff, planning shifts and setting prices. It costs $7.99 on Steam (regular price, September 2026), runs on Windows and Linux, and has been out since November 2024. The developer is now working on a sequel.

In short
It is a single-player management game developed and published by DMA Games, released on Steam on November 14, 2024. You play Yvonne, an entrepreneur who buys a small cafe and wants to grow it into a luxury venue for adult entertainment.
The store page opens with an unusual warning from the developer: do not buy this game if you expect a visual novel, fast progress or lots of animations with sound. That honesty is the best summary of the game. Steam players rate it "Mostly Positive" (73% of 128 reviews).
The developer states that all characters are fictional and over 18.
This is a business sim first. Dialogue scenes exist, but they serve the management side: they introduce staff, hand out tasks and unlock the next step. Here is the loop as the game describes it.

DMA Games does not give a playtime, but it repeats that time is "the key element" and that unlocking every part of the building takes a lot of it. Expect a slow burn measured in many sessions rather than an evening. A common theme in player reviews is exactly this pacing: some enjoy the gradual build, others find it grindy.
No. It is built in Ren'Py, the engine behind most adult visual novels, which is probably why people ask. The developer is explicit that visual novel elements are only there to support management and the choice of your next actions.
The story is thin by design. Yvonne buys the cafe, needs people to run it and grows the business one department at a time. Characters get introduced through short conversations when you hire them or unlock something new. If you want a plot-heavy game about running a venue with combat and politics on top, our Memoirs of a Battle Brothel review covers a very different take.

Everything is shown as rendered 3D stills in a realistic style, the kind you know from many Ren'Py adult games. The office, cafe and bedrooms are clean and bright, and the cast is varied. There is little animation: the developer says so himself on the store page.

Buy it on Steam. The Brothel Tycoon Linux build is native and sits next to the Windows one, which is still rare for adult games. No Mac, browser or mobile version exists. DMA Games has an itch.io page, but it only lists another game (Sophia's Spa), so Steam is the one official store for this title.

No, but it is cheap. Here is the base game and the Brothel Tycoon DLC on Steam:
| Item | Price (Steam, Sept. 2026) | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Base game | $7.99 | The full game |
| Staff Expansion Pack | Free | New employees and several thousand images, released April 7, 2026 |
Yes, from Steam. It is a normal Steam purchase with cloud saves and updates handled by the client. Skip unofficial "full unlocked" downloads: the game is $7.99 and you cannot know what a repack contains. Our guide on whether Steam adult games are safe covers the basics, and the one on finding adult games on Steam explains why the store page may be hidden by default.
The latest patches are three "Small Bugfix" posts from April 17 and April 19, 2026, the last one fixing the "Picture Collector" achievement. No version number is given.
On April 17, 2026 DMA Games also announced Brothel Tycoon 2, a direct sequel moving to Unity 6 with a full 3D venue and third-person play. It has its own Steam page, which lists Q4 2026 as the Brothel Tycoon 2 release date, and closed alpha recruitment for experienced players was posted on May 27 and September 24, 2026. Treat that date as a target, not a promise.
No. It uses the Ren'Py engine and has dialogue scenes, but the developer describes it as a business simulation where the story parts only support management.
Two new assistants, four new nurses and five new staff members in each of four other roles, plus several thousand new Full HD images. It is free on Steam and came out on April 7, 2026.
Yes. Steam lists a native Linux build (Ubuntu 12.04+ or Kernel 3.x+ distributions) next to Windows 10 64-bit. There is no Mac version.
Its Steam page shows Q4 2026, and the game was in closed alpha with invited players in September 2026. No exact day has been announced.
It lets you watch staff at work in the parts of the building you have unlocked, such as the cafe or the clubs, instead of only reading reports.
At $7.99, yes, if you enjoy slow tycoon games and accept static images. If you want animation, voice acting or a strong story, pick something else.
This is a small, honest management game: hire staff, plan shifts, tune prices and watch the building grow, very slowly. The low price, free DLC and Linux support make it easy to try, and the developer's blunt warning tells you exactly who will bounce off it. Patient players who like rosters and spreadsheets will get their money's worth. For more ideas, browse the games catalog.
