Custom Order Maid 3D2 Review

Custom Order Maid 3D2 It's a Night Magic (COM3D2) is KISS's 3D maid club sim: you inherit a debt-ridden luxury bar, design its maids in a deep character editor and run the business. It costs $40.00 on Steam (regular price, September 2026), runs on Windows 10 with optional VR, and the adult content is a separate $5.00 R18 patch. New DLC still arrives every month.

In short

  • What it is: a character editor, a club management sim and a skippable rhythm game, wrapped in a story mode.
  • Who it's for: players who enjoy designing anime-style 3D characters and dressing up a venue; not for anyone who wants a tight game with a clear end.
  • Price: $40.00 base game plus the $5.00 R18 patch (regular prices, September 2026). Around 60 more DLC packs cost extra.
  • Status and platforms: released July 30, 2019, Windows 10 64-bit only, VR supported, DLC schedule still running in 2026.
  • Big pro / big con: one of the deepest editors on Steam, but the full content costs many times the base price.

What is Custom Order Maid 3D2?

COM3D2 is developed by KISS and published by S-court. It launched on Steam on July 30, 2019 as an official English release, and Steam users rate it "Very Positive" (83% of 1,550 reviews).

The setup: your uncle hands you ownership of the Empire Club, a luxury bar where maids dance and talk with guests, then leaves the country. Only then do you learn the club is deeply in debt. Three maids have stayed, and with them you rebuild the business while dealing with rivals.

The official site is com3d2.world. The store's content descriptors list nudity or sexual content and general mature content.

Gameplay

A normal session moves between three screens: the editor, the club and the stage.

The club management screen: rooms such as Training Room, Theater, Casino and Open Cafe, with rank, staff, facility level and funds at the bottom

How the club loop works

  • Design your staff. The developer calls character editing "the most crucial feature": you shape each maid's face, body, hair and outfits in detail.
  • Build out the club. The management screen shows the building as a grid of rooms. You set up or remove facilities, check each one's rank, staff rating, assigned people and facility level, and watch funds and spending.
  • Plan the schedule. You decide which services the club runs and which maids work where, then let the day play out.
  • Beat the rivals. Rivals from the story challenge you in "VS Dance", a rhythm game. Steam says plainly that you can skip these if you like.
  • Follow the story. Story mode strings the management days together and introduces characters as the club recovers.

The COM3D2 character editor

This is the reason most people buy it. Beyond faces and bodies, costume packs and "personality" DLC add new character types with their own reactions, which is why so much of the DLC catalogue exists. The screenshots also show a separate room layout editor with categories, an object list, save and load buttons and a "Position test (Maid)" button for staging scenes.

Story

The three maids who stay at the start are Maria Seido (innocent and cheerful), Mafuyu Himuro (serious and loyal) and Risa Takizawa (dignified and mature). The plot is light: a debt, an absent uncle, rival clubs and a lot of outrageous problems, in the store's own words. It exists to give the management and editing a frame.

Main features

  • A deep 3D character editor for maids, outfits and presets
  • Club management with rooms, facilities and staff assignments
  • VS Dance rhythm battles, skippable
  • A room layout editor for furnishing and staging
  • COM3D2 VR: SteamVR support and tracked motion controllers
  • COM3D2 English interface and text in the Steam version
  • A steady DLC stream with monthly release schedules posted on Steam

Visual style

Characters are anime-styled 3D models with a clean, glossy look, and the club interiors are warm wood, red curtains and candlelight. The editor and management screens are functional rather than pretty. In our screenshot picks we stuck to the club and editor screens.

What the Steam build contains

  • Base game ($40.00): the "normal version": story, editor, club management and VS Dance, without the X-rated content.
  • COM3D2 R18 patch ($5.00): a paid official DLC from November 5, 2021 that adds the X-rated content.
  • One-way switch: per the patch's store page, once applied you can no longer play the normal version, and saves from the two versions are not compatible.
  • Still some censorship: the patch page states "there will be censorship in some scenes."

So, is COM3D2 uncensored on Steam? Not as sold, and only partly with the patch. Our list of adult games on Steam covers which games ship explicit out of the box.

Is Custom Order Maid 3D2 free?

No, and it is one of the most expensive games in our catalog once you add DLC. A sample of the COM3D2 DLC at regular price, September 2026:

Steam lists around 60 DLC entries, and new packs keep coming. Start with the base game and the patch; add DLC only when you know which character types you want.

Is it safe to download?

Yes, from Steam. The R18 patch is an official Steam DLC, so there is no reason to use unofficial patches or "all DLC" bundles from other sites. Our guide to Steam adult game safety explains what to watch for.

FAQ

What does the COM3D2 R18 patch do?

It is a $5.00 official DLC that adds the adult content. After applying it you cannot play the normal version, saves do not carry over between versions, and some scenes are still censored.

Is COM3D2 uncensored on Steam?

No. The X-rated content is a paid add-on, and even with the R18 patch the store says some scenes are censored.

Does COM3D2 support VR?

Yes. Steam lists VR support through SteamVR and tracked controller support. Your PC must meet your headset's own requirements too.

Is there a COM3D2 Mac version?

No. Steam lists Windows 10 64-bit only.

What is COM3D2 VS Dance?

A rhythm game in which you battle story rivals. It can be skipped if you only want the editor and the management side.

Is COM3D2 worth it?

If character creation is your hobby and you accept paying for DLC over time, yes. If you want one purchase with everything included, look elsewhere.

Final verdict

COM3D2 is a character editor with a club sim attached, and both are more substantial than they look. The catch is the business model: the base game has no adult content, the R18 patch still leaves some censorship, and the DLC list is enormous. Go in knowing that and it rewards patient tinkerers.
