Sakura Dungeon is a first-person dungeon crawler RPG from Winged Cloud in which a fox spirit reclaims her stolen dungeon by capturing monster girls and building a party of up to six. It costs $19.99 on Steam (regular price, September 2026), runs on Windows, Mac and Linux, and promises 15 to 25 hours of play. The Steam build is censored; a free adult patch is reported by the community but we could not verify its official source.

In short
It is a first-person RPG dungeon crawler made and published by Winged Cloud, the studio behind the long "Sakura" series of visual novels. It released on Steam on June 3, 2016, and it is a finished game. Unlike the studio's visual novels, this one is built around gameplay: you map floors, fight turn-based battles and manage a party.
The quick answer for buyers: this is the Sakura game to pick if you want gameplay. Its dungeon crawling is simple and old-school, but it has structure, difficulty options and a campaign measured in tens of hours.
Community opinion is strong. The Steam summary reads "Very Positive" across 1,915 user reviews as of September 2026.
You explore dungeons in first person, one grid step at a time, in the style of classic crawlers. Floors hide traps, secret rooms, treasure and bosses, and fights are turn-based, with your party shown at the bottom of the screen.

The store page states 15 to 25 hours, depending on your skill and the difficulty you pick. That is long for an adult-leaning game and a reasonable length for a light crawler. Players who chase every capture and gallery unlock will land at the upper end.
You play Yomi, an ancient fox spirit. After several hundred years sealed away in a deep sleep, she wakes to find that her lovingly made dungeon has been taken over by a new lord and that her power is gone. The heroic knight who woke her ends up, after a brief fight and some "negotiation", joining her to take the dungeon back.

The tone is light and comic. Dialogue scenes between floors carry the plot and the banter, and the new dungeon lord's plans give the campaign a thread to follow. It is not a deep story, but it gives the crawling a reason and a sense of humour.
The dungeon itself uses simple 3D-style corridors seen in first person, with a compass overlay. Character art is anime-style 2D, used for battles, dialogue and CG scenes, and it is where most of the production value sits. Backgrounds between floors, such as a town shop and a garden, are bright and clean.
Steam lists the game with "Some Nudity or Sexual Content" and "General Mature Content". In practice the Steam build is suggestive rather than explicit: revealing outfits and fan-service, but not the adult content the patch is said to add.
The Sakura Dungeon Steam page is the only official store we could confirm. It lists Windows, macOS and Linux.

No. The Steam version does not carry Steam's adult-only sexual content descriptor, so what you buy there is the censored game. Steam discussions and community guides say a free 18+ patch is distributed through Denpasoft, an adult storefront. Denpasoft's page could not be opened when we checked, so we cannot confirm the file or its source, and we do not link to it. Treat any patch as unverified until you find it on an official page.

No. It is a paid game at $19.99 on Steam (regular price, September 2026), and we found no official free demo. Winged Cloud's games go on sale regularly (its Steam news mentions a Sakura Sale in April 2025), but we do not promise sale prices.
The Sakura Dungeon game itself, bought on Steam, is safe and updates automatically. The patch is the risky part: because we could not verify its official source, only install a patch from a page you have confirmed belongs to the publisher, never from a re-upload or mirror. Our explainer on Steam adult game safety covers what to check.
The game is complete and has been out since 2016. Winged Cloud's recent Steam announcements on this page are about its newer releases (such as Sakura Bunny Girls 2 in May 2025) and sales, not updates to Sakura Dungeon. We could not confirm a current version number, so we do not quote one.
Community guides and Steam discussions say a free 18+ patch exists and point to Denpasoft. We could not open that page to confirm it, so we treat it as unverified.
Yes. Steam lists macOS alongside Windows and Linux.
Yes. Sakura Dungeon Linux support is listed on Steam, with the same low requirements.
The store page says 15 to 25 hours, depending on your skill and the difficulty (Normal, Hard or Abyssal).
An RPG. It has visual-novel style dialogue between floors, but most of your time is spent crawling dungeons, fighting and building a party.
If you want a light, full-length dungeon crawler with monster collecting, yes: it is well reviewed and runs everywhere. If you mainly want explicit content, the censored Steam build and the unverified patch make it a weaker buy.
Winged Cloud's best-received game is also its most "game-like": a simple but satisfying crawler with capture, party building and enough length to justify the price. The catch is the adult content, which is not in the Steam build and relies on a patch we could not verify. Buy it for the RPG.
